If you’re interested in becoming a Hand & Stone franchisee, it’s important that you get to know us, and our culture, and that we get to know you too. Each successful franchisee goes through the steps outlined in this article—and you’re already on the first step!
Running a successful Hand & Stone franchise is rewarding but not easy. That’s why we always look for a good fit during the franchisee application process. People who are serious about pursuing a franchise opportunity tend to research the company before making a call. That includes reading our website, blog, and media articles. We also suggest visiting one or more of our locations to get a feel for our culture and services firsthand.
Request more information
When you’ve read all you can, and you wonder if Hand & Stone is part of your future, it’s time to connect with us directly. You can do that by filling out our franchising inquiry form with your name, phone number, and email address.
Talk to our president on the phone
Within one business day of sending your information request, you’ll get a call from our president, Brett Harding. Brett has been in the franchise business for decades and he’s passionate about helping people become successful business owners. During this conversation, Brett will ask you about yourself, and why you’re interested in Hand & Stone. Plus, he’ll answer any questions you have.
Stop by for a visit
Franchising is a people business, so Brett will invite you to invest 90 minutes to meet him at the head office. This is where you’ll learn more about becoming a franchise owner and get a better feeling about whether you think it would be a good fit for you. At the end of this meeting, Brett will ask you if you’re ready to apply for a franchise.
Tell us about yourself in our franchisee questionnaire
If you say yes, then you’ll take home our 3-page franchisee questionnaire to fill out. This is where you’ll get the chance to tell us about your skills, qualifications, assets, interests, and why you’d like to invest in our business. Your questionnaire will be reviewed by our president and CEO—brother and sister team, Brett Harding and Gigi Harding. If it’s a good fit, you’ll be approved, and ready for the next step.
Go through the disclosure document and do your due diligence
There are franchising rules about disclosure of company information. Before a franchise can be sold to a franchise candidate, the company must provide a disclosure document. This document includes company financial information and contact information for all franchise owners.
What you do with this information is called due diligence. That includes reading and understanding the financial information and connecting with current franchise owners to learn about their experiences. Your due diligence process will likely include consulting a franchise lawyer because disclosure documents contain legal jargon that can be hard to understand.
Meet the team on Discovery Day
On Discovery Day, you’ll spend the day with our corporate team at the head office. You’ll talk to Brett and Gigi about the Hand & Stone vision. You’ll also spend time with our key team members in marketing, operations and training, and get a first-hand look at how we operate our business. It’s a full day of learning and fun.
After Discovery Day, the real work of becoming a Hand & Stone franchise owner starts with business planning—and we help you with that all the way. But that’s a topic for a whole different article!
If you’re at the end of your self-study period, and you’re ready to talk to us about becoming part of the Hand & Stone team, fill out our franchising inquiry form today.
